Gogogic Receives Grant for “Rupture: A Collectable Card Game”

December 14, 2009

On December 10th 2009, Gogogic was formally awarded a grant for 400.000 DKK (just shy of $80.000) from the Nordic Game Program.

This is the second time in a row that Gogogic receives this grant so we feel extremely proud and happy. Like with Vikings of Thule, we think the grant will allow us to create yet another innovative gaming experience.

The grant is specifically tied to the development of a collectable card game for both the iPhone and Facebook, which currently goes by the working title of “Rupture”. The game is set to launch in the summer of 2010. It won’t be long until we leak more information, shiny teasers and some wild concept art.

Release (Facebook) : The Attack on Glowbuleville

January 19, 2009

Glowbuleville

A public Beta version of The Attack on Glowbuleville is now available on Facebook. We’re still tweaking it and turning a few screws but the game is both ready and stable.

  • Rating : All audiences
  • Difficulty : Hard
  • Total playing time : 70-140 minutes

This game is specifically designed for casual players that are looking for a challenge – people that want fast paced fun and a whole lot of action. So even if the basic game-play is easy to learn and the game mechanic overly familiar, the game itself will test your resilience and will.

So, do not let the cuteness og Glowbuleville fool you. Because it will test your nerves and your reflexes. Whack whack whack away so we can add more huts another day.

The game

You take on the role of a young hero, which has to save the overly cute village of Glowbuleville, from occupation by the evil Gorbs. You have to enter every hut, whack every Gorb and save innocent Glowbules that are held captive. You begin with a crummy twig but as you work your way up, you are able to pick up better whacking weapons and other things that will help you succeed.

Your profile is a very important aspect of the game. There, you can see what trophies you have earned, how your journey is going and where your skills need improvement. You can also view the profile of your friends and compare your success to theirs.

Who’s Your Friend?

January 15, 2009

plakat-185x200We just released another Facebook game. “Who’s Your Friend” is a very simple game where players have to identify their Facebook friends based on profile images. Each player has 90 seconds to identify as many friends as possible. We just wanted to see if we could fit something like this into a small Flash application. No razzle dazzle – just plain old fun.

As a player, you will see a blurry profile image of a friend. Alongside it are four names of friends and you have to match the correct name to the image displayed. The image becomes clearer as time passes but you also loose points (and valuable time) if you’re not quick to react. Once you’ve made your guess, another image is displayed and the fun continues!

So – simple, fun, easy to learn. Enjoy!

Stellar Review for Stack’em!

September 15, 2008

Inside Social Games reviewed Stack’em last Saturday. Here is an excerpt of what they had to say:

The game play is very simple and easy to learn (stack sheep until you miss three times and loose) which is something more developers should take to heart (you’ve all heard the saying). Gogogic knows the game is simple, so instead of piling on loads of complicated features that so many other designers do, they instead choose to polish this one feature to be as fun and amusing as possible. The game is just funny, and it’s impossible to play without cracking a smile.

Stack’em Released – First Facebook Game!

September 3, 2008

Ladies and gentlemen! We’ve released our very first Facebook game – Stack’em. The story behind the game is simple: stack as many sheep as you possibly can and create the ultimate tower of bleeping sheep! Easy and doable by pressing a single button (although, repeatedly).

When we decided to build games for Facebook, we also wanted to start by launching something simple and addictive. We think we’ve achived that with Stack’em.

We’re currently ironing out a couple of minor issues and we will be updating the game every day for the next week or so. Further updates depend on how well the game does with the Facebook crowd. But we’d love all and any pointers/comments that you maight have 🙂

And oh… We expect to release at least 2 more Facebook games over the next few weeks, with more games rolling out before Christmas!

If you have a Facebook account, add Stack’em here!
